Man Gets Trapped Under Forklift at Phillipsdale Landing
Rescue crews responded to the accident that left a worker with serious leg injuries.
Firefighters rescued a worker pinned under a forklift at Phillipsdale Landing late Monday morning. He sustained serious injuries to his leg and was taken to the hospital.
Rescue teams were able to promptly respond to the accident. At the time, East Providence Fire Department personnel and other teams from surrounding areas, including Seekonk, were undergoing Rapid Intervention Training in a nearby Bourne Avenue facility.
According to Fire Chief Joseph J. Klucznik, the incident is an industrial accident that will be handled by the Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration (OSHA).
