Two East Providence men have been arrested for assaulting their girlfriends after heated arguments.

Two East Providence men face domestic assault charges against their girlfriends.

Michael A. Medeiros, 31, of 28 James St., was charged by East Providence police on Monday, Nov. 19, with domestic simple assault and battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

Tommy M. Parker, 26, of 12 Walnut St., was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 14, with domestic simple assault, resisting arrest and domestic strangulation.

Medeiros allegedly got into a heated argument late in the afternoon with a woman who he shares a child with, according to the police report. He allegedly pushed her head onto a counter top at her apartment in Riverside.

Medeiros was arraigned at the East Providence police station and given a court date.

Parker allegedly got into a violent argument with his girlfriend in the early evening. She contacted the police because she said she was tired of getting choked, according to the police report.

During the arrest, Parker allegedly became physically and verbally abusive to the police officers. He had to be restrained in handcuffs, according to the police report.

He was arraigned at the East Providence police station and give a date to appear in court.
