No Fall Middle School Sports, Says Budget Commission
Sports at the middle school level will not be funded through the next fiscal year.
During Thursday's Budget Commission meeting, it was restated by members that funding for middle school sports in the East Providence School District has been cut. This includes fall sports, according to reports from East Bay Newspapers.
Jessica Beauchaine, chairman of Project 106, a non-profit dedicated to raising funds to support teams without city backing, said she was told sports would be cut for months by budget commission members.
Patch will be meeting with members of Project 106 next week to report their plans to financially support teams.
