Pizza Shop Bandit Back in Court

Justin Thomas, 25, faces multiple felony charges after he allegedly held up an East Providence pizza shop and stole a police cruiser while trying to escape.

 

Justin Thomas, 25, the man East Providence police say held up the Dominos Pizza on Pawtucket Avenue last month, is scheduled to be back in court today, Dec. 10, according to WPRI-TV.

Thomas also allegedly stole an East Providence police cruiser to try to make his escape, eventually hitting three other police cars before being stopped.

Police were called to the pizza shop by a customer who showed up to pick up an order. Finding the store empty, he contacted police.

Thomas ran out of the back of the building and fled on foot when police officers arrived. He stole the police car when an officer ran around the back of a nearby house and Thomas came around in the front.

Thomas was arraigned on multiple felony charges, including first-degree robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, and resisting arrest.
