East Providence police are treating the death of a 50-year-old woman as a homicide after she was found dead in a Metacomet Avenue home on Friday night. She was missing for over two days, according to family and friends.  The time and cause of death are unknown at this time and are being investigated by the Rhode Island State Medical Examiner's Office and the East Providence Police Department. Officers have a "person of interest" they are attempting to locate. The department is refraining from releasing the name of the victim until family members are notified.  Stay tuned for updates on this case.
