Police Offering Self-Defense for Women

The course provides basic self-defense tactics and information to help women be their own best defense if attacked.

East Providence police are again offering a basic self-defense course for women starting next week.

The Rape Aggression Defense program will teach women tactics to defend themselves against abductions and other attacks. It is designed to make women their own best defense against an attack.

The program consists of six, three-hour classes -- two each week for three weeks -- that will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9 pm. The dates: March 4, 6, 11, 13, 18 and 20.

Classes will be held at the East Providence Senior Center.

The fee for the class is $20. You need to pre-register at the East Providence Police Department, 750 Waterman Ave.
