Police Officers' Memorial Service is Sunday

The eighth-annual East Providence Police Officers' Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at the , 750 Waterman Avenue, East Providence, Rhode Island. This event is sponsored by the East Providence Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1 and the East Providence Fraternal Order of Police Associates.

During this get together members of the East Providence Police Department who traveled to Washington D.C., earlier in the week, to participate in the National Law Enforcement Memorial Day ceremonies on May 15 2012 will share those experiences. It should be mentioned that the East Providence Honor Guard was selected to participate in the President's Cordon. The East Providence Police Honor Guard also participated in the Survivor's Detail and Color Guard ceremonies at the U.S. Capital.
