Police Report Sex Offender Resides on Centre Street

Jason Bolarinho, 27, of 45 Centre St., was charged with three counts of first degree child molestation.

According to the East Providence Police, a Level Three sex offender has been released from prison and now resides in the area of Centre St.

Jason Bolarinho, 27, of 45 Centre St., was charged with three counts of first degree child molestation. The victim was a 12-year-old girl known to Bolarinho.

Sexual offenders are rated on a scale ranging from Level One through Three. Level Three is categorized as having the highest risk of recidivism.

The department is releasing the information under the Sexual Offender Registration and Community Notification Act; police urge the public not to harass the sex offender.

"Abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated and may be a crime. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's abiliy to do community notifications," reads the notification. "We believe that if a community notification ends because of the community harassment, the only person who wins in the sex offender, since sex offenders derive their power through secrecy."
