Police Seize Pot From Medical Marijuana Patient
Darius Roderick, 23, of 2930 Pawtucket Ave., in East Providence, allegedly possessed more than five times the marijuana he was legally allowed to have.
Police seized more than 400 grams of marijuana and three pot plants from a Pawtucket Avenue resident with an active medical marijuana card.
Darius Roderick, 23, of 2930 Pawtucket Ave., was charged with manufacturing and possessing drugs, at approximately 11:29 a.m. on April 19, after police obtained a warrant and searched his apartment.
According to Investigator Darren Ellinwood, officers allegedly awoke a sleeping Roderick after finding marijuana and packaging materials throughout the apartment. Plants were allegedly found growing in the closet.

Roderick reportedly has a medical marijunana card but it only allows patients to legally possess 2.5 ounces of marijuana — about 70 grams.
He is being held at the Adult Correctional Institute until a bail hearing is scheduled at Sixth Division District Court.
