A home on President Avenue was heavily damaged after a fire broke out at approximately 3:15 p.m. Friday, according to reports from <a href="http://news.providencejournal.com/breaking-news/2012/08/single-family-h.html" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">The Providence Journal</a>. Members of the East Providence Fire Department said the Riverside residence was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Firefighters were able to quell the flames though one of the team was taken to the hospital due to heat exhaustion.  The cause of the fire was unknown at the time.
