Providence Man Dumps Heroin on Highway While Chased by Police
In the bag found in an embankment off I-195 East, police allegedly found 1,000 waxed paper packets of heroin thats equal to $2,800.

A man transporting over 1,000 packets of heroine in a minivan on I-195 East was charged with drug possession after he allegedly tried to dump the evidence out the window.
On March 7, at approximately 2 p.m., Sgt. Diogo Mello of the attempted to pull over a Honda Odessey with an improperly attached temporary license plate. After he attempted to stop the vehicle in a marked police cruiser, the driver, Jeffier Vargas, 23, kept driving on I-195 East. Just before crossing into Massachusetts, the Providence resident reportedly dumped a black bag out the passenger side window that rolled down an embankment. He then pulled over after crossing into Seekonk after Exit 1.
In the bag, police found 1,000 waxed paper packets of heroine equal to approximately $2,800 in street value, said Sgt. Mello. They also confiscated $690 in cash. Vargas was arrested by the Seekonk officers but charged in Rhode Island after police obtained an arrest warrant for Vargas.

Vargas was charged with possession of heroine with the intent to deliver, according to Sgt. Mello. He was transported to the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Insitute (ACI).
