Raymond J. McCusker, 87

Raymond J. McCusker, of Vermont Avenue, Rumford in East Providence, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Chestnut Terrace Nursing Home. He was 87.

He was the husband of A. Bernice (Stehfest) McCusker. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Daniel J. and Celia (Ainsworth) McCusker.

McCusker was an Accountant Credit Manager for Furnace and Duct Company before retiring. He was a Marine Corp Veteran of World War II and served in Iwo Jima.

He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Finnegan Council # 111, and was active in the Boy Scouts Troop #88 of Rumford. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church for 57 years.

Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter, Beth Brunelle of Fall River; two sons, Raymond McCusker, Jr. of Northport, NY, and William McCusker of Rumford; two brothers, Leo X. and Daniel J. McCusker. and one sister, Marie DiIorio; and five grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Brunelle, and Katherine, Raymond and Sarah McCusker.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 am from the Perry McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Margaret's Church, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford.

Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are tonight from 5 to 8 pm.
