Red Cross Aids Grove Avenue Residents Displaced by Fire
A circuit breaker with loose lug nuts sparked a fire at 182 Grove Ave. this weekend.
A circuit breaker malfunction in a four-unit residence resulted in a Saturday afternoon fire that sent one Grove Avenue resident to the hospital and others out of their homes.
According to Captain Oscar Elmasian, of the , two residents were in their apartments located at 182 Grove Ave. when the first-floor occupant smelled smoke. Fire alarms were soon after enacted; the two residents exited the building. The first-floor occupant was taken to the hospital due to smoke inhilation.
According to the captain, the first floor ceiling was opened up. The building endured significant damage to the wiring.
