East Providence Area Chamber to hold luncheon on Tues., May 12. Guest speaker: Erik Godwin, director of RI Office of Regulatory Reform
East Providence, RI: The East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their monthly networking luncheon on Tuesday, May 12. Erik Godwin, director of Rhode Island’s Office of Regulatory Reform, is the guest speaker. Mr. Godwin was appointed by Governor Gina Raimondo in January 2015 to head the office that is working on making Rhode Island a better place to do business and grow jobs.
Laura McNamara, the Chamber’s executive director, said, “Every Rhode Island business owner has experienced some form of frustration in dealing with state and local bureaucracies. We are giving Mr. Godwin the opportunity to tell the business community in-person what is being done to eliminate some of the state’s rules and regulations that make Rhode Island not so business-friendly. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and voice their concerns.”
The luncheon is open to the public and will be held at Chelo’s Hometown Bar and Grill, 911 Warren Avenue in East Providence. A reservation is required by Friday, May 8 by contacting the Chamber’s office at 401.438.1212 or office@eastprovchamber.com. The cost is $20 per person and includes lunch. The event is from Noon – 1:30pm with check-in time at 11:45am-Noon.
