Riverside to Elect First Woman Council Member
Council member Michael DiGioia will not be running again in November, leaving Chrissy Rossi the Ward 4 designation by default.
School committee member Chrissy Rossi will make Townie history come November.
Michael DiGioia dropped out of the race for East Providence City Council, according to Leslie Shattuck-Moore of the city's canvassing authority. This leaves his lone opponent, Rossi, the Ward 4 designation by default.
If she continues to run, Rossi said she will be the first woman council member to come out of Riverside, according to records that date back to 1862.
