Route 195 Closed While Person Persuaded to Climb Back to Safety
An East Providence patrol officer and a RI State Trooper talked a person off of the Potter Street overpass.

Route 195 in East Providence at the Potter Street overpass was closed in both directions for about 10 minutes during the rush hour Tuesday evening while a person who climbed around a suicide fence was persuaded to climb back to safety, according to the Providence Journal.
An East Providence patrol officer and a RI State Trooper persuaded the person, who was not identified, to come back around the fence.

East Providence Officer Ryan Vose initiated the conversation with the person, according to the newspaper. Trooper Sean McGerhearty joined him while other state troopers shut down the highway, according to East Providence Police Lt. Thomas Rush.
The individual was taken to a hospital, Rush said.
