State Police Arrest Two East Providence Residents

State police arrested two East Providence residents on Thursday.

Jennifer E. Smith, 39, of 41 George St., was charged with obtaining more than $500 under false pretenses and for uttering and publishing forged checks, according to a state police news release. She was arraigned and released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond. 

On Thursday, police also arrested Sunday Abonyi, 34, who lives at 236 Beacon Park Dr. in Riverside. He was charged with possession of between one ounce and one kilogram of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to deliver, conspiracy to possess heroin and conspiracy to possess heroin with intent to deliver.
