Mario Ponte, the man who allegedly and then left her for dead in their Rumford home, ended his own life at his place of work, Ferry Dairy Farm on Wheaton Avenue in Seekonk, according to reports from the East Providence Police Department.  He reportedly hanged himself in a barn.  His wife, Lucy Ponte, endured severe injuries to her neck and is in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital. The case remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police, the Seekonk Police Department and the East Providence Police Department.
