Walt Whitman series at EPOCH on the East Side
EPOCH Assisted Living on the East Side will host a four-part summer poetry series on Walt Whitman, beginning on July 7.
EPOCH Assisted Living on the East Side will welcome teacher, lecturer and actor Stephen Collins for a four-part summer poetry series on Walt Whitman. Presentations will be held at 3:30 p.m. on July 7, July 14, Aug. 4 and Aug. 11. These seminars will delve deeply into the life and work of one of America’s most beloved poets who found inspiration in everyday life. The series will begin with a biographical sketch of Whitman’s life and a discussion of his influences. Over the course of the series, guests will study “A Noiseless Patient Spider,” “Miracles,” “Crossing Brooklyn Ferry,” “Out of the Cradle Endlessly Rocking,” portions of “Songs of Myself,” and other poems.
