Warm Welcome To A New Home For East Providence Resident
julia Dempsey picked up the keys to her new rental home courtesy of the East Providence Community Development Office Monday.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — When veteran Harold Alexieff won a city lottery for a below-market rental home in East Providence last week, he politely declined the offer. When runner-up Julia Dempsey was chosen in his place, Alexieff was there Monday when Dempsey was presented the keys to the single-family house on Payette Street.
The program is run in conjunction with the city's Community Development Office. The renovated, one-bedroom home had hardwood floors, new kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures with off-street parking. This project is funded through the U.S. Housing and Urban Development
Department through their Community Development Block Grant Program.
Dempsey is a Riverside native and East Providence High alumna.
