Driver Charged After Crashing on Facebook Live
Police say the driver, now in good condition, was live streaming before he crashed into a dump truck and a concrete barrier on Route 6.
PROVIDENCE, RI — On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. state police went to Rhode Island Hospital to arrest Onasi D. Olio Rojas, 20, of Pawtucket, at his bedside.
He was charged with reckless driving and with operating on a suspended license (Special Circumstances).
Olio Rojas was the driver in a major crash on Route 6 in Providence last Wednesday when he was apparently live-streamed his reckless weave through traffic — at speeds over 100 mph — before crashing into a dump truck.

Three lanes of traffic were closed Wednesday while firefighters removed Olio-Rojas from his smashed car.
Capt. John Allen with the State Police said Olio-Rojas faces charges. He anticipates the arraignment will happen by his hospital bed sometime this weekend or early next week.
"He's been admitted" to the hospital, he said; "he's not going anyplace."
The video below shows a young man, purported to be Olio-Rojas, flying through Route 6 traffic, weaving in and out of lanes, narrowly missing cars, while traveling of speeds up to 115 mph as he listens to music. He frequently turns the camera on himself, on the road, and on his speedometer.
The driving portion of the video ends abruptly as it looks like he begins to lose control.
