Young Woman Charged After Fight With Sister

East Providence police charge woman, 19, with domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct after fistfight on Monday, Jan. 21.

A fight on Monday, Jan. 21, between two East Providence sisters who live in an apartment together ended up with the older of the two facing two domestic charges.

Ria Marie Cabral, 19, of 16 Ridge Drive, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault and battery after a late afternoon fistfight with her sister, 18, according to East Providence police.

Cabral was charged as the primary aggressor after she allegedly struck her sister on the left arm with a curling iron, and threw the curling iron and a high heel shoe at her sister, police said. The shoe injured the sister’s palm but she refused treatment.

Cabral allegedly went into a tantrum while the sisters were trying on clothes together before she went to work as a waitress at a Providence club. She was arraigned by police and will go to District Court to face the charges, according to police.
