• 25 years later, coming together on 9/11 (newsfromthestates.com) — A 25th-anniversary 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter honored nine Rhode Islanders killed in the attacks and more than 20 service members lost in the subsequent war on terror. State leaders, first responders, and Gold Star families gathered as Governor Dan McKee urged residents to lower flags and remember the unity and sacrifice shown after 9/11.
