• RI sets lofty new goal for reducing absences in school (providencejournal.com) — Jamestown's Lawn Avenue School students were recognized at the State House for their winning attendance-promotion video, highlighting local efforts to keep kids in class. State education leaders also set a new goal to cut chronic absenteeism below 10% statewide by 2030, expanding data tools and standardized attendance rules for every Rhode Island school.
