MA Woman Charged With Possessing Fentanyl And Crack In Jamestown: Cops (patch.com) — Jamestown drivers on Route 138 may have noticed police activity after state troopers stopped a Massachusetts woman and charged her with possessing fentanyl and crack in town. The 40-year-old was arrested just after midnight, processed at the Wickford Barracks, and held for arraignment as a bail violator in Second District Court.
   

2. Jamestown Man Wanted On Reckless Driving Charge Nabbed: Cops (patch.com) — Jamestown residents may see increased police presence after state troopers arrested a local man wanted on a reckless driving charge at his Howland Avenue home. The 52-year-old was taken to the Wickford Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future court date.
   

3. Jamestown Extends Veolia Water Plant Contract to 2033 (upriseri.com) — Jamestown residents face long-term impacts as the Town Council extended Veolia's water plant staffing contract through 2033 and reviewed major spending for Fort Getty RV upgrades and bathroom work. Councilors also delayed a decision on Eldred Avenue field netting, advanced an affordable housing bond insert, and approved a one-day liquor license for the Jamestown Arts Center and an October 11 block party.
   

4. Newport Yacht Club wraps evening racing season with 53 teams (whatsupnewp.com) — A Jamestown-based team made its mark in Newport Yacht Club's evening racing, with Frostbite Bros narrowly losing a J/70 tiebreaker and Raven winning the Wednesday multihull class. The series drew 53 boats from around Narragansett Bay, and local sailors can already look ahead to registering for the 2027 season next April.
   

5. Ronald F. Lewis (pvdeye.org) — Jamestown readers are remembering Det. Sgt. Ronald F. Lewis, who spent three decades happily living on the water here while enjoying boating, fishing, and family life. The retired Providence Police detective sergeant, Air Force veteran, and private investigator is remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took greatest pride in those closest to him.
