Jamestown Panel Seeks Commercial Trailer Parking at Fort (upriseri.com) — Jamestown's Harbor Management Commission is asking the Town Council to reserve trailer parking at Fort Getty for the town's commercial tenants and allow short‑term boat storage during bad weather. The move aims to restore what shellfish and aquaculture operators say was a long‑standing practice quietly ended years ago, and residents can still weigh in when the council takes it up.
   

2. Narragansett Schools Buy Marine Engine Curriculum (upriseri.com) — Jamestown families with students in Narragansett schools may see new opportunities as a $268,453 rural health care pathways grant, tied to the Jamestown–Narragansett partnership, expands sports medicine into physical therapy training. The School Committee also approved a marine engine curriculum for its Marine Professions program, updated handbooks and bus routes, and renewed food service, with school set to open September 1.
   

3. SK police say investigation into hospital bomb threat call remains open (independentri.com) — Jamestown police were among 75 officers who rushed to South County Hospital after a phoned bomb threat that forced a lockdown and patient diversions, later deemed a false alarm. South Kingstown officials say the investigation into the threatening call is ongoing, with no suspects yet identified and the phone number traced to a nonlocal source.
   

4. Owners Sue Rhode Island Over 'Taylor Swift Tax' (upriseri.com) — Jamestown owners of high-value second homes are among more than 40 plaintiffs suing Rhode Island to overturn the new Non-Owner Occupied Property Tax, nicknamed the "Taylor Swift tax." The suit argues the surcharge on million‑dollar-plus, non‑primary residences is unconstitutional and unfair to out‑of‑state and multi‑home owners, while the state defends it as funding affordable housing credits.
