EPA No Way: Yesterday, we carried the news that Mayor Joseph Polisena has decided not to pursue a plan by the EPA to bury toxic soil in Johnston. After we first posted the story, Mayor Polisena and a concerned resident spoke with us about the decision — watch for updates later this morning.

Temps Climb: Today's JohnstonPatch Weatherbug forecast is for mostly cloudy skies and temps in the mid-40s during the day, with clouds lingering overnight and temps in the 30s.

Video Project: Mohr Library is one of four libraries in the state chosen to participate in this year's "My Digital Life Project" funded by the Rhode Island Arts Learning Network, and Teen Librarian Tanya Paglia is looking for teens to register for the 12-week project, the results of which will be broadcast on the PBS series Confessions of a Teenage Critic. Space is limited, and registration closes on Jan. 16.
