The AAA Southern New England Traffic Safety Awards took place recently at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Providence. The North Providence Police Department was presented with a 2013 Bronze Award of Excellence in recognition of their outstanding achievements in traffic safety. These efforts have enabled their community to enjoy 13 consecutive years without a pedestrian fatality. Shown (from left) are Acting Police Chief Paul Martellini, Sergeant Brian DePetrillo, AAA Southern New England President & CEO, Mark Shaw, Acting Deputy Chief Christopher Pelagio and Captain James Broccoli. Sergeant DePetrillo was also honored as a 2013 AAA Traffic Safety Hero.
