Accident at Car Dealership Sends Franklin, Mass. Man to Hospital
Robert Tripp, 48, of Franklin, Mass., is listed this morning in stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital.

JOHNSTON, RI – A Franklin, Mass. man is in stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital today after an accident Sunday on Hartford Avenue.
According to Deputy police Chief Daniel Parrillo, he is Robert Tripp, 48. The accident happened at 4:32 a.m. in front of Grieco Honda, 1880 Hartford Ave.
A car "traveling eastbound left the lane of travel, struck a telephone pole and several parked vehicles on the Grieco parking lot," he said. The car stopped in the middle of the Hartford Avenue travel lane."

Johnston Fire took the driver to the hospital. He was conscious but had suffered multiple broken bone.
Six or seven cars parked on the dealership lot were also struck and are a total loss.

"The path of the damage extends approximately 250 feet," he said.
No one else was in the car, and no one else was injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash, and the preliminary findings suggest speed was a factor.
