Through the Lens: Sakonnet Point Sunset

Catching a great shot of the sunset over Sakonnet Point.

A couple months back, my friends and family and I went fishing at Sakonnet Point. After some time, the sun was starting to set and I just had to take a picture of the sunset with my Canon Rebel XT.

What caught my eye before taking this picture was the way that the sun was breaking through the clouds shining down on the ocean water, and how dark the clouds were and how blue the sky was. Those features really made the photo "pop." I later edited this photo with filterstorm and loved the end result.

When I take photos, I try not to go searching for the perfect picture, I just take the shot when I see something worthy of taking a photo of. I always look for diffirent angles to take a picture from, for example; getting closer to the ground to get the ground into the picture to add more to it, or going behind a bush and get the top of the bush it adds alot to a picture. I always try to carry my Canon around with me because I never know when a good picture is going to appear.
