Cougars Challenge EP In Unbeaten Battle
The Johnston-North Providence boys' varsity hockey squad travels to Dennis Lynch Arena in Pawtucket to face East Providence in a battle of unbeaten Division III teams.

Following back-to-back wins last weekend, the Johnston-North Providence Cougars are scheduled to take the ice tonight against the East Providence Townies in a match-up of undefeated Division III teams.
Tonight's game is set for 7 p.m. at Dennis Lynch Arena in Pawtucket. [Link goes to Rhode Island Interscholastic League directions web page.]
The defending D-III state champion Cougars swept the first weekend of competition last week, on Dec. 2 and following it up the next night with a 7-0 blanking of Woonsocket High School, during which the Cougars fired 60 shots at Villa Novan goalie Ian Provencal.

Both of J-NP's first two games were played at the team's home rink in Smithfield; it now faces a stretch of six straight games on the road, including rematches against Tolman at Lynch Arena on Dec. 17 and against Woonsocket at Adelard Arena on Jan. 14.
The Cougars, who currently hold an 11-1 scoring advantage over their opponents, are next scheduled to play a home game on Jan. 16 against Mt. Hope.

East Providence enters tonight's contest after posting two wins, against West Warwick on Dec. 2 and Scituate on Dec. 3. Including tonight's contest, the Townies are scheduled to play three of their next four games at home.
Correction: The headline to this article was revised after publication following an update to the Rhode Island High School Hockey website that included the East Providence Dec. 9 win over Woonsocket, the results for which were not available at press time.
