GoFundMe Launched To Help Victims Of Massive Johnston House Fire
So far, more than $3,800 has been raised to help the family rebuild following the devastating fire.
JOHNSTON, RI — A fundraiser has been launched to help a family who lost everything in a massive house fire on Mother's Day. The Finne Road blaze broke out Sunday afternoon, completely engulfing the house by the time crews arrived on scene.
According to the Johnston firefighter's union, there were no hydrants nearby, requiring tanker trucks to extinguish the blaze.
As of Monday afternoon, just over $3,800 had been raised of the $20,000 goal.

"[The family] lost everything they had on Mother's Day due to a massive fire at their home," the GoFundMe page reads. "We would like to help them with necessities and anything else they may need during this tragic time. Anything will help at this time."
Both people inside the house at the time were able to evacuate safely, though the family's dog was later found dead inside the house and a cat is still missing, WPRI reported.
