'Good Luck Charm' Worked
Johnston's 13- to 14-year-old All-Star team swept its first two games in the state tournament on July 23 and 24.

Tara Maki described herself as a 'good luck charm' for Johnston's 13- to 14-year-old All Star team β and it seemed to work for the host squad, who took both games on July 23 and 24 at to advance to the finals.
Maki, who decorated her face with blue and silver stars and wore a t-shirt that read: "Johnston All-Stars β The Wonderboys Are Back" during the July 24 contest between Johnston and East Greenwich, explained that she wanted to show her support for the local team.
"My friend's son is on the team," Maki said, "but I'm here to cheer them all on."

Johnston defeated EG, 6-3, on July 23 and followed it up with a 20-2 pounding of Glocester on July 24.
