Great Escape: Special Plans For A Special Day

This weekend is a bit more special than most, since it leads into Valentine's Day on Monday. Since some of you might prefer to celebrate sooner,  here's a quick list of some special places to go with that special someone.

• restaurant will be having a special Dean Martin dinner show with Steve Palumbo on Saturday, February, 12th.

• Capriccio's is offering a prix fixe deal not to be missed — appetizer, entree, and dessert for $29.95 per person.

• If you're in the mood for seafood, Hemenway's has several Valentine specials, which run from Friday through Monday.

• Federal Hill's Pane e Vino offers Valentine specials including veal osso buco and petit hereford filet.

• Fred and Steve's Steak House is offering a Valentine special from February 11th-14th for $85 per couple. The price includes a glass of wine, appetizer or salads, entrees, desserts, and coffee or tea.

Once dinner is finished, there's plenty happening in the area. Here are a few suggestions:

• Hot 106 presents the Diplomats at Lupo's on Friday. Tickets start at $25, and the show starts at 10pm.

• There will be performances of The Lion King at the Providence Performing Arts Center each night this weekend. Tickets range from $33 to $143.

• Do you feel like dancing? On Saturday from 10:30pm to 2am, The Hi Hat turns into Club Zouk, playing a mix of international, reggae, and hip hop.

• If you're one of those people who must celebrate Valentine's Day on Valentine's Day, you're in luck. The Hi Hat will be hosting a Valentine's Burlesque Show at 6pm.  Tickets for two, including dinner and the show, are $100.  Tickets for just the show are $25 each.

• Trinity Rep will have performances of The Crucible all weekend long. Tickets start at just $12.
