Illegal Dog Surgery At Car Wash: Johnston Man Arrested

NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI — A Johnston man was arrested at his car wash after police said he allowed an illegal dog ear cropping surgery there.

Daniel Guerriero, 32 was released on $20,000 personal recognizance after appearing in court Thursday. Personal recognizance is a non-bail release where the accused promises to return to court.

Guerriero's charges include felony unauthorized practice of veterinary medicine, misdemeanor unnecessary animal cruelty and misdemeanor conspiracy.

Investigators told the Associated Press two co-defendants are involved. They are scheduled to appear in court Monday.
