Interim Grand Jury: Johnston Man Indicted

Christopher Garofano, 32, faces trial for allegedly holding up the DB Mart on Atwood Avenue in 2016.

JOHNSTON, RI—The Johnston man accused of robbing the Atwood Avenue DB Mart back in November 2016 has been indicted by the Providence County Grand Jury. According to Atty. Gen. Peter Kilmartin's office, Christopher Garofano, 32, is being charged with two counts of first degree robbery; four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon; two counts of using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and one count of vandalism.

Garofano allegedly robbed the store at gunpoint on Nov. 7, 2016 and again on Nov. 20. No one was injured during either incident. A customer was inside the store when it was robbed Nov. 20.

Garofano is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on Sept. 28.
