Johnston Events, Apr. 14 and 15: Baseball, Yard Sale, Hunt, Bowling
Johnston Little League opening day, the historical society's scavenger hunt, and great fundraisers are on this weekend's schedule.

Little League: On Saturday starting at 9 am, Johnston Little League kicks off its season with Opening Day, featuring a parade, photos of all the teams, and a few exhibition games. Players meet at l, then process down to Kennedy Field for opening ceremonies.
Yard Sale: Operation Stand Down, the local organization dedicated to helping homeless veterans, is scheduled to hold a yard sale from 9 am to 5 pm at 1010 Hartford Ave. The group is still collecting donations through Friday nigth at 5 pm; call (401) 383-4730 or visit osdri.org for more information.
Scavenger Hunt: Also on Saturday, the Johnston Historical Society hosts its annual "Great Johnston Scavenger Hunt," set to run from 9 am to 5 pm at the Society Museum on Putnam Pike. Cost is $8 per team.

Registration: The Johnston Youth Football and Cheerleading League is holding registration for its spring programs on Friday from 6 to 8 pm, and Saturday from 9:30 am to 12 noon. For more information visit the Johnston Football League website.
Bowling: Town Hall Lanes on Atwood Avenue is the site for Sunday's Miss Rhode Island Scholarship and Miss Rhode Island Outstanding Teen Programs 9-Pin Bowling Fundraiser from 2:30 to 5 pm.
