Johnston Schools To Open August 31

Opening day for Johnston schools is scheduled for August 31, Supt. Dr. Bernard Dilullo confirmed during a recent interview at the .

August 31, Sept. 1 and Sept. 2 — Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — are scheduled full days for classes at local schools., DiLullo said.

"Johnston has been opening for full days [during the week before Labor Day] for a few years," he explained. "There are no half-days of classes on those dates."

Schools will be closed Sept. 5 to observe Labor Day, then resume on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
