Lightning Girls Recognized By Revs
The local soccer squad won the Session 2 championship at Teamworks in Warwick.
Head Coach Dan Robbins sent us the attached photo of the Johnston Lightning Under-8 girls squad, who took the indoor soccer Session 2 championship on April 23 — and earned a trip to Gilette Stadium to see the New England Revolution.
In an e-mail message, the coach reported: "The team had a compiled record of 8-1 and had a total offensive output of 91 goals scored and defensive effort with 34 goals against."
The young ladies started their Session 3 schedule by joining a co-ed squad with the under-8 boys — and winning their first contest against the Teamwork Tigers, 6-4, on May 13.
