Mobster Robert DeLuca Takes Deal and Will Plead Guilty to Conspiring in 1992 Murder of Kevin Hanrahan

BOSTON, MA – Robert "Bobby" DeLuca has accepted a plea deal, Carmen M. Ortiz, the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, said yesterday.

According to court papers filed in Boston, DeLuca agreed to plead guilty to one count of obstructing justice and to two counts of making false statements. All three charges are in connection with the murder of Boston nightclub owner Steven DiSarro.

DiSarro disappared in 1993, but his remains were discovered last March in Providence.

DeLuca also has made a deal with U.S. Atty. Gen. Peter Kilmartin to plead guilty in Rhode Island Superior Court to one count of conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the 1992 murder of Kevin Harrington.

He could face jail time up to 10 years for the first count, plus three years' supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and $100 mandatory special assessment. The other counts each carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison, plus three years' supervised release, a $250,000 fine and the $100 mandatory special assessment.

Penalties in Rhode Island would run concurrently, according to the documents.
