• Johnston parents demand answers at School Committee meeting as bus problems continue (turnto10.com) — Johnston families are pressing school leaders for immediate fixes to ongoing bus delays and long days caused by new start times and routing problems. At Tuesday's School Committee meeting, contractor Zum outlined proposed schedule and routing changes, while parents questioned its reliability and urged the district to consider switching back to the previous bus company and hiring more monitors. 
• 38th Annual Apple Fest brings classics, adds flavor (johnstonsunrise.net) — Johnston's beloved Apple Festival and Artisan Market returns Sept. 19–20 at Johnston Memorial Park, bringing more than 100 vendors, food trucks, and performances. Organizers promise everything from apple treats and a petting zoo to witch dancers and a marching high school band, drawing families from across the region for a fall-themed weekend close to home.
