Sports Brief: Chariho 20, Johnston 6
Johnston High School had its homecoming game on Saturday afternoon against Chariho, and were defeated 20-6.

In the first quarter, the Panthers managed two quick first downs but the game turned over when Johnston was flagged for interference in one play. Running back Victor Halton, a junior, scored from 21 yards out for the Panthers with 8:42 remaining.
Johnston's Jason Salvatore kicked the ball off to the Chargers, who recovered at the 43 yard line.

The Panthers fought back, stopping multiple hand-offs at midfield. Chariho's Colton Place broke through the tought defense to score a touchdown with 2:38 left in the quarter. The Chargers missed the two-point conversion, leaving the score 6-0.
After DeSantis kicked off for the Panthers, Johnston took possesion but managed to get flaggged on two plays, back to back. An inside handoff to Charger Austin McQuade gained a touchdown for the team, resulting in a 12-0 lead. McQuade's two-point conversion was successful, making the score 14-0.

The Panthers fought hard in the fourth quarter with Halton taking down Chariho's Place with 9:25 left in the game. Shortly after, Chariho's Jordan Cassidy scored a touchdown, but the Chargers did not get the two-point conversion due to Johnston's Halton blocking the ball. With 3:50 left in the game, a pass to Chariho's Tyler Bobbin scored the Chargers final touchdown and secured the 20-6 win for the visitors.
