Sports Brief: Panthers Advance To D-II Finals
Johnston overcame a 4-0 deficit against Woonsocket to take the best-of-three series.

The varsity baseball squad secured a winning record over Woonsocket for the 2010-11 season with a 7-4 victory on June 3 in the Division II semifinals.
Arguably the Panthers' toughest opponent this year — with regular season games decided by just one run apiece — the Villa Novans notched two runs in the second inning and matched Johnston's two scores with a pair of their own to take a 4-2 lead into the fourth.
Johnston scored five unanswered runs, with three in the fifth and two in the sixth. Freshman reliever Joe Bongiovanni pitched a scoreless seventh to preserve the win.
