Sports Brief: Woonsocket Deals Panthers First Loss Of Season, 5-4
Johnston stages a late rally, but falls short.

The varsity baseball team took their first loss of the season on May 6, falling to the Woonsocket Villa Novans, 5-4.
With the loss, the Panthers' season record is now 10-1; Woonsocket improves to 10-2 in Division II North.
Woosocket led off the scoring in the bottom of the second inning with two runs against Panther starting pitcher Gian Bianchi, and added three more in the third inning. Greg Doutre struck back for Johnston with a two-run homer in the fourth.

Johnston tacked on two more to pull to 5-4 in the top of the seventh and had runners in possible scoring position when a Johnston runner was called for interference of the second baseman, ending the game.
