State Police Arrest Man Wanted in Johnston

Julio Gomes, 47, of Providence, was taken into custody after a car stop on Union Avenue in Providence.

PROVIDENCE, RI — State Troopers arrested Julio Gomes, 47, of Providence, on May 12 at 10:35 a.m. after a car stop on Union Avenue in Providence. He was wanted on a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant. It was issued after he allegedly failed to appear for a pre-arraignment conference. The original charge was Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle or Parts originating out of the Johnston Police Department. Gomes was taken to State Police Headquarters, processed, and transported to Providence Superior Court.
