5 Times Over Legal Limit: State Police Say 911 Callers Likely Saved Lives
Motorists called 911 about an erratic driver, and state police ultimately made a drunk driving arrest.

JOHNSTON, RI — A Canton woman charged with drunken driving had a blood alcohol content level five times over the legal limit, police said.
Elizabeth Salah,23, was arrested Wednesday by the Rhode Island State Police and charged with driving with a blood alcohol content level over .15.

At 4:40 p.m. state police received several 911 calls for an erratic driver on Interstate 295 South.

During a traffic stop near exit 6, police say Salah displayed signs of intoxication and failed all field sobriety tests administered at the scene.

After she was taken into custody, Salah allegedly registered a blood alcohol content of .411, well over the legal limit of .08.
Salah faces a fine of $500, 20-60 hours of community service, one year in jail, and a license suspension of 3-18 months.
She is due back in court April 6.
