Storm Debris Deadline Set For 9/30

The town's Department of Public Works will pick up any remaining debris from Tropical Storm Irene through the end of the month.

It's been nearly three weeks since — later downgraded to a tropical storm — hit the Rhode Island area, and since then, residents have been cleaning up the tree limbs and other debris felled by the strong winds and rain.

This week, the town issued a notice that the deadline for debris clean-up is Sept. 30.

Residents are asked to gather small branches into bundles measuring three feet by three feet, and leave all debris at their curb for pick-up.
