Town In Line To Collect $360K From FEMA
Johnston has been tentatively approved for a reimbursement from the federal agency that equals 75 percent of the cost of the town's Tropical Storm Irene response.

It's been three months since Tropical Storm Irene blew into the area, and the town of Johnston is expected to receive federal reimbursements soon for the cost of cleaning up after the storm.
Deputy Chief David DeCesare, who also serves as the town's Emergency Management officer, explained during a recent interview that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will cover 75 percent of the town's costs for its response to Irene.
"We've been tentatively approved for reimbursement," DeCesare said. "It includes everything [like] documenting every expenditure, overtime, payments made under various contracts, [and] calculating mileage for [police] cruisers."
