Busy Commute Expected Oct. 3

Providence: RIDOT is urging motorists to allow additional time in both their morning and afternoon commutes in the Providence metropolitan area on Monday, October 3, 2011, because of an event at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The one-day "Get Motivated" seminar is expected to cause significant delays on the highways and city streets in Providence. Rte. 6:

Various locations: Rte. 6 EB & WB, from the I-295 interchange to the Connecticut state line, alternating lane and shoulder closures for construction, Sunday-Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Friday from midnight to 6 a.m.

Rte. 10:

Providence: Rte. 10 NB & SB, from the Westminster St. overpass to the Cranston St. Bridge, alternating lane closures for construction, Sunday-Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Rte. 146:

Various locations: Rte. 146 NB & SB, from the I-95 interchange to the Massachusetts state line, alternating lane and shoulder closures for construction, Sunday-Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Friday from midnight to 6 a.m.

Interstate 95:

Providence: I-95 NB & SB, at Rte. 146 interchange, alternating lane closures for construction, Sunday-Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Pawtucket/Providence: I-95 NB & SB, from Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.) to Exit 29 (Broadway), left lane closed for construction, Sunday-Wednesday from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Work will take place in the following areas:

• Providence: Thurbers Ave. underpass to the Eddy St. overpass
• Pawtucket: Lonsdale Ave. underpass to the Slater St. overpass
• Pawtucket: Fountain St. overpass to Exit 29.

Interstate 195:

Providence: Exit 1B, a new off-ramp from I-195 WB to Eddy St., close to the
