Accomplishment: Pitched five strong innings (9 strikeouts, 4 hits, 1 walk) to shut down the Ponaganset Chieftains in the April 18 contest that the . The win brought the team's record to 5-0.

Key to Awesomeness: A level head and a wicked breaking ball. Coach Steve DeMeo said of Pingatore: "He doesn't get rattled β€” he might throw a bad pitch or two, but he gets right back to it and pitches really well."

On Monday, Pingatore whiffed several batters by placing his fastball in the strike zone, rather than trying to blow it by them, and on more than a few occasions unleashed a breaking ball that DeMeo admitted "we don't know what to call it."

Explained the coach: "It starts out like a fastball, and then the bottom drops right out of it β€” it doesn't do the same thing twice."
